ICE: America’s favourite death cult with a badge

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are still acting like fascist boot boys. Since we last reported on ICE, they’ve been ripping apart families and may have killed two people. The FBI is also warning that criminals are posing as ICE. Who could have known that deploying unaccountable masked thugs would lead to a spiral of violence?

Wired reported:

Criminals posing as US immigration officers have carried out robberies, kidnappings, and sexual assaults in several states.

In a statement, the FBI said they’d told ICE to:

Ensure law enforcement personnel adequately [sic] identify themselves during operations and cooperate with individuals who request further verification.

And a senior ICE official told Wired:

Anyone caught impersonating themselves as a federal immigration agent will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Impersonating a federal immigration officer endangers public safety and erodes trust in law enforcement.

That’s about as much use as a chocolate fire-guard because ICE, by its very nature, is meant to endanger people.

Family speaks out

The family of a Costa Rican man who died after being deported in a vegetative state has spoken out about his death. Randall Alberto Gamboa Esquivel was held in various detention camps before his daily contact with his family mysteriously ended in June.

His sister told the Guardian:

Someone at the detention centre said he had a health issue, and that’s why he wasn’t answering us.

But they didn’t give us any more information.

He died after being deported to Costa Rica. Former Costa Rican president Oscar Arias championed the family’s case:

Randall Gamboa entered the [US] illegally but in perfect physical condition.

Randall’s family deserves to know the truth and to learn what happened when he was in custody of American immigration authorities.

ICE shot Carlos in the back

US citizen Carlos Gimenez was shot in LA on Sunday. He’d pulled over to tell ICE agents to finish up with a car they’d stopped because school children would soon gather in the location. Reports say Gimenez was shot in the back shortly afterwards.

A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson said Gimenez was now in custody accused of attempting “to run officers over by reversing directly at them without stopping”.

The shots, DHS claims, were “defensive”.

Gimenez’s lawyers reject this claim. The LA Times reports:

Lawyers for Jimenez offered a counter narrative. They said that Jimenez reversed because he was afraid, then was unnecessarily shot in the back of his right shoulder, where a bullet remains lodged.

Then there was a shot from the side, back passenger window, to the car. Use of deadly force is to be used as a last resort. Coming out to communities with guns drawn is the opposite.

NPR reports there have been 20 deaths in ICE custody in 2025. Other reports put the death toll at 23.

ICE, which now has a budget larger than most countries’ defence funding, has increasingly become a liability for US citizens. And even for the Trump regime, it comes only second to the even more aggressive Border Patrol. ICE also can’t hit its gruesome target of 3,000 deportations a month. All in all, it should probably just fuck off permanently.
