The State of Qatar continued to dazzle the world with an unprecedented opening of international sporting events, combining global and Arab football championships, reaffirming its status as the capital of international sport and an ideal destination for fans of major competitions.

Qatar to host four major sporting events

During November and December 2025, Doha will host four major sporting events:

  • FIFA U-17 World Cup
  • FIFA Arab Cup 2025™
  • Intercontinental Club Cup
  • Formula 1 – Qatar Grand Prix

This diverse season confirms Qatar’s continued investment in its remarkable success at the 2022 World Cup, as the stadiums and infrastructure that dazzled the world once again become the stage for global sporting excitement.

FIFA U-17 World Cup: the future of football hosted by champions

From 3 to 27 November, the FIFA U-17 World Cup will kick off in Qatar with 48 teams participating for the first time in the competition’s history, as part of a long-term plan for Qatar to host the tournament for five consecutive editions until 2029.

The matches will be held in modern facilities, including Khalifa International Stadium and Aspire Zone facilities, reflecting Qatar’s continued investment in the sporting legacy left by the 2022 World Cup.

The tournament is an ideal opportunity to discover a new generation of stars, with talents expected to emerge who may shine in European and international leagues in the future.

Arab Cup 2025: an Arab football festival with a global flavour

Attention then turns to the FIFA Arab Cup 2025™, which will be held in Doha from 1 to 18 December, with the participation of the most prominent Arab teams. Expectations are high for an impressive organisation that will recreate the atmosphere of the 2022 World Cup with a purely Arab spirit, building on the successes of the first edition in 2021.

Hassan Al-Kuwari, Executive Director of Administrative Affairs for the Organising Committee, confirmed that preparations for the tournament are proceeding in accordance with the highest international standards.

He said:

This year’s edition has been prepared in a way that will impress the audience, and those who miss it will lose a lot, especially since Doha is hosting other events during the same period, such as the Intercontinental Cup, and has a calendar full of accompanying events for the audience.

Al-Kuwari added:

Qatar Airways has launched an exclusive package combining airfare, match tickets and hotel accommodation to provide a complete experience for fans coming from abroad.

Regarding the participation of some teams in the second tier, Al-Kuwari said:

Teams are no longer measured by which teams they play against. We have the example of the Moroccan youth team, which has performed impressively. The technical level of the tournaments does not depend on the participation of the first team, and the tournament will be outstanding in terms of technical and organisational aspects. We are keen to ensure that it is an exceptional and rewarding experience for our guests.

Intercontinental Cup 2025: champions of the continents face off in a global showdown

Qatar will also host the 2025 Intercontinental Cup for clubs, one of the most prominent new football events on the FIFA calendar.

The tournament brings together the champions of the six continents to determine the ‘best club in the world,’ with the three final matches taking place in Doha from 10 to 17 December.

The event represents a continuation of global confidence in Qatar’s organisational capabilities following its remarkable success in hosting the 2022 World Cup. Today, Doha is an ideal destination for elite tournaments thanks to its state-of-the-art facilities and high-level logistical services.

Formula 1 – Qatar Grand Prix 2025: speed and excitement

For speed enthusiasts, the Qatar Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place at the Losail International Circuit from 28 to 30 November 2025.

The night race, one of the highlights of the world championship, will see fierce competition between circuit champions such as Verstappen, Hamilton and others, amid an impressive atmosphere combining light, speed and excitement.

The event is not only a sporting competition but also a comprehensive entertainment and tourism experience, with fan zones and accompanying festivals allowing the public to enjoy the experience in all its details.

The World Cup legacy continues… and Qatar is a destination for athletes

Since Qatar impressed the world with its flawless organisation of the 2022 World Cup, it has continued to strengthen its position as a global sporting platform.

The stadiums, designed to the highest standards, are still vibrant, and the modern metro network and advanced hotel infrastructure now serve hundreds of thousands of visitors who flock to attend tournaments and events.

Officials at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy emphasise that the goal is sporting and tourism sustainability, ensuring that Qatar remains on the international calendar every year with tournaments that combine passion, organisation and hospitality.

Doha, which dazzled the world in 2022, returns today to present a new season of sporting creativity, where passion meets wonder and sport becomes an integrated human and cultural experience.
