Cannabis has always been political. Who gets to use it, who gets punished for it, who gets to build an empire off it—these are decisions shaped by power, not preference. And when it comes to women who smoke, the conversation has been even more reductive: the lazy stoner, the airhead, the mess. But in 2025, some people are done with explaining – like Sundae School’s Women of Weed.

Women’s History Month

For Women’s History Month, Sundae School and Sundae Flowers introduce Women of Weed, a campaign that dismantles the outdated myth that women who love weed can’t be high-functioning and high-achieving. These women smoke, create, lead, and disrupt on their own terms. At the heart of the campaign lies a docuseries capturing the personal and professional realities of four bold, nonconforming femme creatives, diving into their relationship with cannabis—how it shapes their work, their rituals, their survival.

It’s not just about destigmatising weed. It’s about destigmatising weed as a femme person. It’s about the false binary of ambition vs. indulgence, hustle vs. ease. It’s about being both—and not needing permission for either.

The consumption of weed is rooted in this patriarchal idea of masculine leisure — one that often objectifies women and centers men,” said Danielle Berger, Creative Director:

Women of weed challenge this idea — and contribute to a new narrative of weed consumption — one focused on femme/”girl rest” rather than “girlbossing.” That instead of “standing on business, women can “rest” on business and still be successful, high achieving and do anything she sets her mind to.

The Women of Weed

The docuseries takes an unfiltered look at four women who refuse to compromise—on their success, their rest, or their right to exist exactly as they are. Each episode is a deep dive into their work, their process, and their refusal to be boxed in.

  • Patia Borja (she/her) – Multi-Media Artist, Activist: A cultural architect and digital agitator, Patia Borja built @patiasfantasyworld, a meme account turned cultural movement, where humor meets protest. She’s called out institutions, disrupted industries, and blurred the line between internet culture and real-world impact. For Borja, weed is both a weapon and a refuge—a way to sustain the energy it takes to keep breaking the rules:

  • Nimay Ndolo (she/her) – Software Developer, Content Creator: A software engineer by day, a cultural commentator by night. On TikTok, Nimay dissects New York’s shifting landscape—housing, race, modern dating—with wit and precision. She’s proof that tech and art, logic and creativity, can not only coexist but thrive. Cannabis is part of the balance, a tool for clarity, deep work, and a reminder that the best ideas come when you stop forcing them.

  • Georgia-Rae Lyken (she/her) – Comedian, Producer: Brooklyn-born and unfiltered, Georgia-Rae Lyken isn’t here to be polite. She’s built a career out of telling the truth loudly and making you laugh while they do it. Their comedy is sharp, personal, and uninterested in respectability politics. Weed? It’s part of the toolkit. A creative accelerant, a moment of stillness before the next punchline hits.

Women of Weed

  • Emily Lee (she/her) – Cannabis Advocate, Influencer: Cannabis built a multi-billion dollar industry, but femme voices are still an afterthought. Emily Lee is changing that. A public force in cannabis reform and policy, she isn’t just here to enjoy the product—she’s here to fight for it. Her advocacy is relentless, because she knows that in an industry still dominated by men, visibility is its own form of protest.

“In popular culture, weed is often linked to masculinity and the stigma around cannabis can particularly affect women and femmes, who face pressure to remain “pure” and avoid “devious” activities like consuming cannabis” said Hee Eun Chung, Lead Producer and Photographer:

Through Women of Weed, we proudly showcase four high-achieving and high functioning women who not only know how to get things done, but know when to rest — challenging the outdated glorification of hustle culture and constant productivity. Taking a break should not just be a reward after hard work but a necessity.

Women of Weed: powered by Sundae School’s SS25 collection

The campaign isn’t just a conversation—it’s a visual statement. Alongside the Women of Weed docuseries, Sundae School will unveil a collection of stunning imagery, each woman styled in pieces from Sundae School’s SS25 “Smokewear Matcha” Collection—a deliberate fusion of strength and softness, rebellion and elegance.

The SS25 collection was built for the reality of 2025—a time when “dressing your age” means dressing for your high-achieving, multi-hyphenate life. It’s not about fitting into someone else’s dress code. It’s about clothes that move with you, from the group chat to the pitch meeting to the smoke break, all without compromising who you are.

This isn’t your dad’s workwear. It’s functional productivity—structured enough to handle your next big moment, but comfortable enough to actually live in. Because being high-functioning isn’t just about staying on your grind—it’s about knowing when to stop and touch some grass (or eat it, if that’s your thing).

Featured Pieces from SS25 “Smokewear Matcha” Collection (in the visuals in this article):

  • Outerwear: Mochi Quilted Military Liner, Ruffle Umma Shell Jacket, Stash Chore Jacket.
  • Tops: Yin Yang Dress Shirt (White), Yin Yang Dress Shirt (Charcoal).
  • Bottoms: Mochi Ripstop Trousers (Green), Mochi Ripstop Trousers (Charcoal).
  • Accessories: Stash Pocket Bag.

In a culture that constantly demands more—more work, more proof, more justification just to rest—SS25 flips that narrative. This collection is a love letter to dressing for yourself, prioritising comfort without apology, and moving through the world on your own terms.

Done sacrificing

Women of Weed and Sundae School’s March Smokewear drop are both inspired by Sundae Flowers’ newest mochi gummy flavor: Matcha. Featuring a blend of THC and CBG, it is dosed for boosting focus, energy and motivation, offering a more balanced approach to productivity — akin to the benefits of choosing a matcha over a coffee.

This campaign is not about proving anything. It’s about rejecting the grind-first, rest-later mentality altogether.

High-functioning women (in every sense of the word) have existed in every era, under every system, in every industry. What’s different now is that they’re done sacrificing rest to be taken seriously.
