Delivery giant Uber Technologies announced a strategic partnership with in Tel-Aviv-based Flytrex Inc. The deal is reportedly worth tens of millions of dollars, although the exact sum as not been disclosed.

Uber expects to begin deliveries in test markets in the US by the end of the year, which will see the food parcels reach customers’ houses within minutes. Flytrex already operates drones for Uber Eats rival DoorDash.

The deal illustrated how US companies are funnelling millions of dollars into the Israeli military-tech industry.

Flytrex CEO is none other than Yariv Bash, the founder of Mahanet, defense forces “creativity camp“. Former Waze CEO Noam Bardin is the new chairman. Bardin is an ex-Israeli Special Forces officer who champions the integration of the Israeli military into the tech sector.

The tech units in the military have a large eco system that combatants are missing. We do bring many other skills to the table, specifically in leadership, grit, team work etc

This comes at a time when most international organisations have finally acknowledged that the Israeli army’s actions amount to genocide.

Furthermore, there was been a marked increase in the use drone strikes specifically in both targeted killing and campaigns of destruction in Gaza and the West Bank.

Back in March 2025, the Electronic Intifada had reported that half of all children killed in the West Bank since January had been killed by drones.
