A judge overseeing the trials of several Merseyside pensioners – under the Terrorism Act for opposing the Starmer government’s terrorism ban (proscription) on non-violent protest group Palestine Action – has agreed a request by the prosecutor to allow police to change their statements in several of the cases, according to an activist who was present at the hearing in Westminster Magistrates’ Court this week.

Palestine Action terror trials

Londoner Gerry Tasker, who attended the Merseysiders’ hearing on behalf of Skwawkbox and the Canary, spoke to the activist there and again at the initial hearing in the trial of journalist Sarah Wilkinson this morning:

The allegation raises further serious concerns about the UK’s legal processes, which are being brought against journalists and activists who expose and oppose Israel’s genocide in Gaza as part of Keir Starmer’s ‘lawfare’ war to protect Israel’s interests and the UK’s collaboration in its genocide and other crimes against the Palestinian people – and in the murder of British citizens.

The Starmer regime has already been exposed consulting with Israel’s UK embassy about which cases to pursue and has jailed anti-genocide activists for more than a year, with another 12-24 months to go, before trial.
