Weaselly Starmer tries – but fails – to defend upcoming Trump love-in

On his recent visit to the US, Keir ‘suck-up’ Starmer hand delivered an “unprecedented” invitation to Donald Trump. The invite in question was for Trump to attend a second state visit, making him the only US president to have received this repeat offer.

So what has Trump done to deserve this?

Umm…

We’re not sure, but a confused Starmer seems to think that ass-licking the orange overlord is the only way to achieve ‘lasting peace’ in Europe:

Starmer: the state of it

As the BBC reported:

US President Donald Trump has been invited to the UK for a second state visit by the King.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer used his trip to the White House to present Trump with the invitation letter from King Charles.

Sir Keir said the president’s last state visit in 2019 had been a “tremendous success” and that the invite for a second visit was “truly historic” and “unprecedented”.

The article further notes that:

Traditionally second-term US presidents are not offered a state visit and have instead been invited for tea or lunch with the monarch at Windsor Castle.

King Charles’ letter proposed a meeting to discuss details of the state visit at either Dumfries House or Balmoral, both in Scotland, a country to which Trump has connections.

Reading between the lines, there’s a chance the king just doesn’t want Trump turning up at his home base for tea and crumpets.

In an interview on Sunday 2 March, the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg asked Starmer:

why does Donald Trump deserve a second state visit? Or frankly, was it a diplomatic enticement so that you could get him on board?

His response was as follows:

Well that’s a matter for the king

This was perhaps the most weaselly thing he could have said, and Kuenssberg pointed this out, saying:

It wouldn’t have happened if the government hadn’t wanted it to, prime minister, come on – everybody knows that.

As much as we dislike Kuenssberg, her own personal dislike of Starmer meant she actually made a good point here. What an absolute weasel this man is to pretend like this wasn’t his decision – especially as he immediately switched to talking about the visit as if it was all part of Labour’s grand plan for ‘peace in Europe’.

Starmer literally stammered before responding:

This is a moment of real fragility in Europe.

Oh, is that the case? Well I’m sure the answer to that problem is to encourage more military involvement from the US – that’s never made things worse. We’re additionally certain the famously “stable genius” Donald Trump is a reliable partner who we can trust to support our long-term strategic goals, much like he’s currently supporting the long-term strategic ambitions of Ukraine:

Starmer also said:

I’ve seen people ramping up the rhetoric and taking to Twitter and saying what they would do – good for them, I’m not that interested in that.

Oh yeah, the problem is definitely people on Twitter ramping up the rhetoric – not that Trump is a rhetoric-ramping machine. Starmer continued:

I’m interested in what are the practical steps, what are the bridge building that I can do, what are the relationships that I can mend and take forward to take us to lasting peace in Europe.

The reason there are ‘relationships to mend’ is because Trump broke them.

Isn’t it time that European leaders showed some backbone and demonstrated they can put the needs of their own people over the shifting wants of these increasingly demented US presidents?

Speaking up

As many have noted, the offer of the second state visit became particularly toxic after Trump’s nightmare press conference with Zelensky:

The public treatment of the Ukrainian President today was disgraceful. Putin will have been very pleased.

Keir Starmer must reflect on his own meeting with Trump, and swiftly & unequivocally reaffirm support for Ukraine & President Zelensky.

And there should be no state visit.

Scottish people are particularly incensed by the state visit, given that it will potentially take place in Scotland:

Still, at least Starmer may finally win some support from the right-wing gutter press he’s constantly sucking up to, as… oh no, actually, never mind – even they think it’s an appalling idea:

Some are managing to defend Starmer, however:

There is absolutely no need for Starmer to offer this second visit, and let’s not pretend otherwise.

Starmer the weasel

In the Kuenssberg interview, Starmer specifically blamed the SNP for the fact that he now was to justify his un-justifiable actions:

I’m not going to be diverted by the SNP or others trying to ramp up the rhetoric without really appreciating what is the single most important thing at stake here – we’re talking about peace in Europe.

If we can’t have ‘peace in Europe’ without sucking up to Trump, then that’s a real problem isn’t it?

It’s never been as clear as it is now that we need to diverge from the US for our long-term prosperity. For too long our quality of life has depended on the whims of a rogue nation which exists solely to enrich the bank balances of the world’s greediest cunts.

There is no number of state visits which will ever appease these people.

So please stop disgracing yourself, Starmer, and please stop embarrassing the British public.
