New polling has shown the Green Party are a hair’s breadth away from Labour:

🚨 NEW | Greens at 16%, 1pt shy of Labour

➡️ REF – 27% (+1)
🔴 LAB – 17% (-3)
🔵 CON – 17% (-)
🟢 GRN – 16% (+1)
🟠 LD – 15% (-)

This is happening as the Greens hit 150,000 members for the first time:

🚨 | @TheGreenParty has hit 150,000 members.

It’s incredible that in less than two months, the party has grown from 68,500 to 150,000.

Happy Monday everyone 😀 https://t.co/5p75FaER7Q pic.twitter.com/cNs5ZXn07d

The Green Party are growing

On 16 October, we reported that the Greens had drawn level with Labour in a poll from Find Out Now:

Find Out Now voting intention:
🟦 Reform UK: 32% (-)
🔵 Conservatives: 17% (-)
🟢 Greens: 15% (-)
🔴 Labour: 15% (-2)
🟠 Lib Dems: 12% (-)

While this was heartening to see, it was just one poll, and the Greens were more than ten points behind in the poll average:

🚨 POLL AVERAGE | Reform leads by 10%

➡️ REF – 31% (+15)
🔴 LAB – 21% (-14)
🔵 CON – 17% (-7)
🟠 LD – 13% (+1)
🟢 GRN – 10% (+3)

They were also five percentage points behind Labour with YouGov – the same pollster who puts them at one point behind now:

🚨 NEW | Greens hit 15% with YouGov

➡️ REF – 26% (-1)
🔴 LAB – 20% (-)
🔵 CON – 17% (-)
🟠 LD – 15% (-1)
🟢 GRN – 15% (+2)

The Greens have also raced forwards with a third pollster this week too:

🚨 BREAKING | Greens surge to **17%**

➡️ REF – 28% (+1)
🔴 LAB – 18% (-4)
🔵 CON – 18% (-1)
🟢 GRN – 17% (+4)
🟠 LD – 11% (+1)

At this point, it’s getting harder and harder to deny that we’re seeing a Green surge. This is especially true given that they just hit 150,000 members:

With all the milestones, how extraordinary this is can get lost!

Last Sunday on the BBC I announced we overtook the Tories at 124k members.

That’s +26,000 members in the last week.

Hope is feeling normal again…. https://t.co/YNegWe9y7y

It’s looks like Polanski is having what you could call the ‘reverse Starmer effect’ – i.e. the longer he’s leader, the more the public warm to him and his policies. As such, it’s no wonder Labour insiders may be plotting to bring down their own prime minister.
